Characters who lived during this reignEdit
Claudius Cordelius appears in a story Mildmay tells in the introduction to Mélusine.
Behind the scenesEdit
- Claudius comes from the Latin claudus "lame, crippled." It was the name of several Roman emperors, including the stepfather of Nero.
- Cordelius is a Latinized masculine form of the Celtic feminine name Cordeilla, which is of unknown meaning. The spelling of Cordeilla was adjusted to "Cordelia" by Shakespeare.
