Lord Michael's Chair is the commonly used name for the Lord Protector's throne in the Mirador.  According to Felix Harrowgate in Mélusine, the name originates 177 years (or 25 septads and two) before the present day.

Lords and Ladies Protector commonly commissioned portraits of themselves seated on the throne.  Felix notes, however, that the current Lord Protector, Stephen Teverius, had not commissioned the traditional portrait in the nine years he'd served as Lord Protector and was unlikely to do so in the future.
